Dr. Zoltan Acs
Zoltan J. Acs is University Professor at the School of Public Policy and Director of
the Center for Entrepreneurship and Public Policy. He is also a Research Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Jena, Germany, and Scholar-in-Residence at the Kauffman Foundation. He is coeditor and founder of Small Business Economics, the leading entrepreneurship and small business publication in the world. Dr. Acs is a leading advocate of the importance of entrepreneurship for economic development. He received the 2001 International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research, on behalf of The Swedish National Board for Industrial and Technical Development. His most recent publication in Entrepreneurship, Growth and Public Policy, Edward Elgar.
Dr. Samee Desai
Starting August 2010, Sameeksha Desai will be an Assistant Professor at Indiana University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
Dr. Desai is a Visiting Scholar at the Kauffman Foundation and a participant in the project on entrepreneurial capacity of the United Nations University-World Institute of Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER). She has been a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Economics and a Fellow at Counterpart International.
She holds a PhD from George Mason University.
David J. Miller
A PhD student with a concentration in Entrepreneurship at George Mason’s School of Public Policy, Miller’s fields of research include entrepreneurship, American Exceptionalism, and the evolution of higher education in the U.S. His research focuses on firms launched on U.S. campuses and investigates founders use of campus assets in starting up. Additionally, he is an active entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Family Fantasy Sports. FFS is dedicated to offering inter-generational activities that promote strong families, education, and healthy lifestyles. The site’s free fantasy football leagues hosts thousands of families annually, raise money for kids charities, and award college savings prizes to winning families. Miller holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, an MSc from the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
